About Inman, SC
Inman, SC is located in Spartanburg County and is just outside of Spartanburg, SC. Although small, the community is growing and has a suburban feel. Every September, Inman holds The Harvest Day Festival that brings over 20,000 people annually to Inman alone. The festival is full of artists, craftsmen, sidewalk sales and many more activities. Other events that are well attended are Music on Mill every Friday night in June, Market on Mill Farmers Market, Good News in the Park and Movies in the Park.
About the Rail Trail
The potential Saluda Grade rail trail will run from Inman, SC to Zirconia, NC. Approximately 16 miles of the line are in South Carolina while about 15 miles are in North Carolina. The route includes dramatic scenery along the Blue Ridge Escarpment and passes through historic downtowns in Saluda, Tryon, Landrum, and Inman. When active from 1878 to 2001, the line was renowned as the steepest standard gauge mainline railroad ever built in the United States. This rail trail is located about 0.2 miles from this retail center.
